COVID-19 Update 18th of August

Dear WPBA members & families,

Please see below update for WPBA domestic competitions and Aussie Hoops.

Domestic Competitions

All games that cannot be played due to the most recent lockdown will result in a 0-0 draw.  Because of this and the impact previous lockdowns have had on the Winter Season season, grand finals are no longer practical for such a disjointed season and thus will not be played for the 2021 Winter season.
If we are permitted to return in two weeks time, our focus will be to ensure all members are able to get back on court as much as possible. To aid this focus, another week of optional games will be added during the school holidays during the week of September 20th-27th.  (Please note as these games are in school holidays & outside of competition dates, these games can be opted out of with no forfeit fee incurred if notified before 48 hours). If your team is not in a position to play these games, please contact Ned at ned@wpba.com.au.

For those teams who pre-paid games via eftpos, this will be tailed and either credited for next season or refunded. These teams will be contacted directly. Those who prepaid for the the season via Teammo will automatically be refunded for the cancelled games.

This proposed plan for the remainder of the season will be reevaluated and confirmed by September 2nd or whenever an update regarding the future of COVID restrictions in Victoria is available.

A reminder that registration for the 2021/22 Summer Domestic Season is now open at this link. https://www.playhq.com/basketball-victoria/register/0d10c3

Aussie Hoops

It is our intention for each player to complete the 8 week program this term. Each participant will be contacted by Naomi shortly to discuss your options moving forward. It is likely that programs will be made up by in the final two week of term 3, both weeks of school holidays and participating in Aussie Hoops programs on alternative session nights. Confirmation of this plan will be made by either September 2nd or whenever an update regarding the future of restrictions in Victoria is available.
