Last night Western Port Basketball had the pleasure of hosting Dr Ben Robbins, Head of Health & Wellbeing at the St Kilda football club.
Ben ran the 200+ attendees through a simple workshop on positive psychology focused around mindfulness and meditation. The skill of mindfulness built by meditation ensures we can remain in or “Blue Brain” meaning we can reach peak performance in whatever life, work or sport can throw at us.
A huge thank you to Darcy from Thrive, Josh from St Kilda FC & The Danny Frawley Centre, Elisabeth Murdoch College as well as all the other Thrive partnered clubs who had the chance to join the session. We look forward to continue the partnership with thrive in to the 2nd half of the year and providing our members with further opportunities to develop in this space.
Also a special mention to the WPBA Health & wellbeing team for also assisting in the planning of the night, it was great to see over half the attendees from basketball. This Sunday we are also hosting another living works SAFEtalk a suicide prevention session for anyone 16 years and older. We have some spots available, if your interested please email Naomi@wpba.com.au.
