Western Port Basketball Representative Program

Western Port Steelers has seen some huge growth in recent years. In 2017 we had 28 Junior Representative Steeles teams competing in the Melbourne United Victorian Junior Basketball league (MUVJBL). In 2026 we will see 40 teams take to the courts in the Victorian Junior Basketball League and Regional League (VJBL).

The BigV is where our Senior Representative Steelers teams compete. These competitions have, in some cases, 4 levels – Championship, Division One, Division Two, and Division Three. Western Port will again have 4 teams in senior and youth sections – Championship Women, Division One Men, Youth League One Women, and Youth League Two Men.

Western Port Basketball also offers pathway programs. Domestic youngsters are identified and invited to participate in our Future Steelers program. More seasoned athletes in our junior representative competition are identified and invited into the High Performance Academy, exposing them to high level training, fitness, and nutritional guidance.
