The Steelers championship men side are pleased to add the talents of Scott Stone and Russell Permenter as their Imports for season 2023 as well as NBL stalwart Daryl Corletto who returns for his 4th season with the Steelers.
Both Stone and Permenter are no strangers to the Big V competition, Scottie as he prefers has previously played with the Ringwood Hawks and most recently was due to play for the Steelers in 2020 before Covid cancelled the season.
Russell or “The Perm” as he got nicknamed has been a Big V all-star and Defensive player of the year when he was representing the Latrobe Energy since then his also spent time in Europe before retuning the US working in Colorado.
“To have not one but two imports who both add something different to the team is a real buzz for Steelers Men’s team and I know coach Gaze is as excited as everyone at WPBA. Russell Parmenter gives us the inside presence we need and his experience and size will be a real factor as the season goes on and add Scott Stone to the equation who gives us energy, speed and strength to the back court then all bases are being covered. Then throw in the signing of veteran and gun shooter Daryl Corletto who has also signed for another season and with his leadership and ability then we are truly building something special at the SteelerDome and there is an air of excitement around the place that’s for sure.” – Peter Caspersz
Russel arrived earlier this week and Scottie will be in the next week. The Big V season isn’t far away with it kicking off March 18th & 19th.
